ADHD is tough to live with for those who have it and for the family. The same applies to Bipolar Disorder. ADHD and Bipolar Disorder can exist as comorbid conditions. To quote from an issue of ADDitudeMagazine.com, "And when the two of them occur together, it can be downright dangerous." (August 12, 2019). According to an article written by Roberto Olivardia, Ph.D. who is a frequent contibutor to ADDitude Magazine, (August 12, 2019), he states that there are an estimated 10 million people in this country who have Bipolar Disorder (BD). Dr. Olivardia goes on to say that studies found that 70% of the individuals with BD also have ADHD and that 20% of the folks with ADHD will also have BD. Both of these disorders can be difficult to diagnose alone much less when they occur together. We know it can take individuals who have either one of these disorders many health care or mental health care appointments to get a correct diagnosis. When the two conditions are both present it's that much more urgent and important that professionals can accurately recognize, diagnose, prescribe appropriate treatment, and offer education and support to the individual and their family.

During the discussion we will take a look at the similarities and differences of the disorders, educational and Internet resources, and the support services that are available on a local and state level.

Our group is informal and each event has diverse participants who work in a variety of professions: health care, mental health care, education, life coaching, and college & university support services just to name a few. Seating is available on a first come first serve basis and is limited to a maximum of 20 participants. If you would like to check us out we encourage you to attend using our one-time Free Guest Pass.
